About this subject
Twenty-three papers, from November 2010 to May 2026, set 552 questions, and they come down to 237 distinct answers: 106 questions recur and fill 421 of the printed slots. The IRDA, its role, duties, powers and functions, is set on 18 of the 23 papers. The essentials of a fire insurance contract, the private car used for tours without a permit, and the husband's insurable interest in a joint life policy are each set on 11; utmost good faith and the disability benefit on 10 each (as 2-mark questions); indemnity on 8. Several problems retell decided cases (LIC v. Dharam Vir Anand, National Insurance v. Behari Lal, Griffiths v. Fleming), and one names New India Assurance v. Zuari Industries outright. The papers were set for 100 marks until 2019; 2021-22 was an online paper of 20 MCQs and 10 short questions; from 2023 the LL.B. paper was 60:40 (the B.L.S. course sat a 100-mark paper in May 2023), and since April 2025 the LL.B. paper has been 75:25, with a separate 60:40 B.L.S. paper in April 2025 and May 2026. April 2014 prints its marks only in Marathi, and November 2010 survives only as a typed copy.
