   • a) By means of an amendment to the Constitution, the parliament converted the position of the Indian President from elective to a hereditary position

   • b) Mr. B was the Chief Minister (CM) ofa State (BCD) in India. Some of his party members defected due to which there was a question mark on his majority support in the House. The CM proposed a ‘floor test’ to test his strength in Assembly Session. But the Governor of the State (BCD) ignored the suggestion of the CM and Article 356 of the Constitution of India was proclaimed in the State (BCD) by the Governor. The CM challenged the constitutional validity of this provision in the Supreme Court of India. SC held the proclamation to be unconstitutional
