Syllabus for Community Engagement Project
Module 1
- 1 Community Projects on Mangrove conservation, tree plantation, park/beach clean-ups ,recycling drives, creating nature trails and eco-awareness campaigns
- 2 Support for Vulnerable Community with food / clothing / toy drives, visiting nursing homes, creating care packages for the homeless, assisting with animal shelter.
- 3 Educational/Skill-Based Tutoring local ,tech workshops for seniors citizen, art programs for kids, organizing Cook book clubs, creating educational videos
- 4 Community Engagement in guided biodiversity trails and sustainability education campaigns for slum/street children.
- 5 Culinary Education and Nutrition Programs for slum and under privilege community children.
- 6 Civic Hygiene Campaigns focuses on the cleanliness of public spaces like parks, streets, and community centers..
- 7 Food Hygiene Campaigns for local community typically involves safe handling and preparation practices, especially in shared spaces, community kitchens, or at local events.
- 8 Community Kitchen Program to provides free or low-cost, nutritious meals to vulnerable populations like the urban poor, daily-wage workers, and migrants
- 9 Cooking Workshop for underserved youth or low-income families
- 10 Surplus Food Redistribution to those in need, potentially in collaboration with local charities for local community.
- 11 Farm-to-Table Initiative to reduce food miles and support local farmers community and suppliers,
- 12 Zero-Waste Kitchen Challenge to focused on waste reduction strategies, such as nose-to-tail cooking, composting programs, and creative repurposing of leftovers, and educate the community on these practices

- 16 Pay What You Can organize events like a community dinner or cafe event with certain menu items, making quality food for everyone and to support a local cause.
- 17 o Event Management for planning and catering services at a discount or pro bono for local non-profit organizations or charity fundraisers, providing students with real- world experience.
- 18 Pop-up Hospitality Services in an underserved area, focusing on affordable, healthy food options and a welcoming atmosphere to foster community gathering and social connection.
- 19 Youth Mentorship Program where students train at-risk youth in basic hospitality and culinary skills, helping them gain confidence and potential employment opportunities.
- 20 Hospitality Career Workshop/Events with local hospitality professionals to educate community members, including high school students, about career paths and opportunities in the industry.
- 21 Local Skill Certification Develop a Program that helps local hospitality businesses assess and adopt more sustainable practices, from ethical sourcing to waste management, and recognize them with a "green certification".
- 22 Public Awareness Campaigns along with social media and local events to educate the public about the importance of sustainable tourism, supporting local businesses, and responsible waste management practices within the hospitality sector.
- 23 Visit to Old age homes and Orphanages for Socializing with the mentally disturbed community by entertaining them and making them happy.
- 24 Empathy and Engagement with marginalized community in Mumbai, including street vendors, waste pickers, and low-income workers.
- 25 Exploring and Educating local community about the Social Protection and Welfare Schemes in Urban Areas (schemes like PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and others in MMR)
- 26 Education and Skill Development for backward classes and tribal communities focus on empowering them for livelihood generation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
- 27 Community-Based Eco-friendly Hospitality Workshop Inspired by Luxury Hotels and Catering Establishment.
- 28 Mentorship program for local community about the women empowerment in culinary and hospitality industry
- 29 Community Engagement Program focused on gender equality and gender sensitization in the culinary and hospitality industry
- 30 Educating and Motivating Program for local community about the effectiveness of the Swachh Bharat Mission in addressing waste management and sanitation in our surrounding/Society.
- The topics are indicative and the faculty members should allot Community Engagement Project that are relevant and important as per core Subject. The Community Engagement Project may be taken individual or in a group up to 5 students with proper guidance from Faculty. Evaluation Pattern:- Evaluation during CEP Program involves two key components:- External Evaluation 60% Internal Evaluation 40%
