  1. Q17 On October 22, 1946, two British worships passing through the strait of corfu were struck with mines in Albanian territorial waters with the result that H. M. S. Sarmarez sank while H. M. S. volage was seriously damaged. The Channel was swept by the British Navy on November 12th and 13th, without obtaining consent of the Albanian authorities. A newly laid field of anchored mines was discovered. Great Britain alleged that Albania was responsible for the presence of the mines in the channel. (i) What is the name of the case? And which court decided the case? (ii) What was the decision?
  2. Q18 Mr. 'X' was an accused person who is too poor to afford a lawyer and who would, therefore, have to go through the trial without legal assistance. (i) Which constitutional right of Mr. 'X' has been violated? (ii) Write relevant case and explain the decision of the court.
