(a) On January 23, 1925, the United States of America and Netherlands referred their disputes concerning sovereignty over particular Islands to arbitration by a sole arbitrator to determine whether the Island in its entirety formed a part of the territory belonging to United States of America or of the territory of the Netherlands. (1) Which case is being referred to here and explain facts of the case. (2) What was the principle adopted by the arbitrator in resolving the case?
