1. Q17 A Muslim woman seeks divorce from her husband. (i) Can the divorced wife marry another man? Give reasons for your answer. (ii) When can the divorced wife marry her own husband? Give reasons for your answer.
2. Q18 Amit, a Hindu, married Payal, a Hindu, under Hindu rites. After eight years of marriage Amit told his wife Payal that he did not want to live with her, hence they should be divorced by mutual consent, as Amit wanted to marry one Vidya. Amit also embraced Islam for the same and obtained a certificate of conversion to Islam from a Qazi. (i) What is the nature of the offence committed? State the punishment for the same. (ii) Under which Section of the IPC is the offence and the punishment committed? (iii) Write the judgement and the name of the case law.
3. Q19 A female employee, Naina, is five months pregnant and has been working for the last two years in the establishment for the same employer. (i) What kind of Maternity Benefit can Naina claim from her employer? (ii) When should Naina give notice to her employer? (iii) What shall be the procedure adopted by the employer to determine the Maternity Benefit in the case of Naina?
