Module I: Classification of Costs and Cost Sheets
- Functional Classification of elements of cost, Cost heads in cost sheet, Cost of Sales, Cost Centre, Cost Unit, Profit Centre and Investment Centre
- Cost Sheet, Total Costs and Unit Costs, Different Costs for different purposes
- Problems sums based on Preparation of cost sheet & Estimated Cost sheet
Module II: Reconciliation of Cost and Financial Accounts
- Meaning, Need and Benefits of Reconciliation of cost and financial accounts
- Practical problems based on Reconciliation of cost and financial accounts
Module III: Contract Costing
- Progress payments, Retention money, Contract accounts, Accounting for material, Accounting for Tax deducted at source by the contractee and Accounting for plant used in a contract
- Accounting treatment of profit on incomplete contracts
- Contract Profit and Balance Sheet preparation, Escalation clause
- Problems sums based on Contract Costing
Module IV: Process Costing
- Meaning of Process Costing, Process loss
- Treatment of Normal, Abnormal Loss and Abnormal Gain in cost accounts
