Staff Software Development Engineer, Platform Convergence Backend

Zscaler runs the Zero Trust Exchange, a cloud security platform that inspects traffic between users, devices and applications instead of relying on a network perimeter. The platform convergence department exists to merge what were separate product stacks into one, and this role builds the backend that makes that possible. The work is Go services and APIs at high throughput, backed by PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB and Redis, with unit, integration and performance testing treated as part of the job rather than an afterthought. At 5 or more years this is one of the more reachable engineering roles on today's list, despite the Staff title. Zscaler runs Agile with sprint planning and retrospectives, and expects mentoring of junior engineers alongside the hands-on work.
