This is PhonePe's Azure specific reliability seat, and it is a distinctly different job from its general SRE listing despite the near identical title. The work is concretely Azure: configuring and managing services on Ubuntu virtual machines, designing Azure components for log storage, alerting and monitoring, and running complex network plumbing including Azure Firewall, route tables, virtual network gateways and ExpressRoute, plus IPsec and ExpressRoute connectivity into external environments. Automation is Terraform, SaltStack and Ansible, with new Terraform written for infrastructure components rather than only maintained. There is also high availability database setup in scope. If your background is Azure rather than AWS, this is one of the few roles on today's list that specifically wants it.

Networking and connectivity: configuring and maintaining complex network components including Azure Firewall, route tables, virtual network gateways and ExpressRoute; establishing and managing IPsec and ExpressRoute connectivity with external environments; and managing routing, troubleshooting connectivity problems and supporting network component migrations with minimal downtime. Automation and infrastructure as code: driving automation of business as usual tasks using Terraform, SaltStack, Ansible and scripting languages, including writing new Terraform for infrastructure components. Database and data management: setting up and managing high availability database configurations.
Location is Bangalore. The role supports a high volume, mission critical environment.
Good fit if your cloud depth is specifically Azure, you are comfortable with enterprise networking constructs like ExpressRoute and IPsec, and you write infrastructure as code rather than clicking through a portal. Not a fit if your experience is AWS only, since almost every named technology here is Azure specific and the networking requirements are the hardest part of the role.
