ChargePoint
About this role
ChargePoint runs one of the largest electric vehicle charging networks across North America and Europe, and this quality engineering role covers two of its newer platforms: a Voice AI system and its monitoring and analytics platform. The job is architectural rather than execution focused. You own the end to end test automation strategy and framework across both platforms, define test pyramid principles from unit through integration, set acceptance criteria and quality gates at story level, and drive root cause analysis on defects that escaped to production so that preventive coverage gets built. The posting describes the goal as shifting quality upstream, from reactive bug finding to prevention at the architecture level, and it includes mentoring engineers on practice.
Who this is for
The employer asks for 8 or more years of experience in software quality engineering.
The day to day: designing and owning the overall test automation framework and strategy across both the Voice AI platform and the monitoring and analytics platform; defining test pyramid principles spanning unit, integration and higher level tests; setting acceptance criteria and quality gates at the story level; driving root cause analysis on escaped defects and building preventive test coverage; working closely with product engineering, platform and data teams to embed quality upstream; and mentoring engineers on best practice while driving quality culture across cross functional teams.
The posting reports to a Director of NOC Delivery and Automation, and describes the intent as shifting left, moving from reactive bug finding toward proactive prevention at the architecture level.
Location is Bangalore.
Good fit if you are a senior quality engineer who wants to own strategy and framework design across multiple platforms rather than write test cases against a fixed plan, and who is comfortable being measured on defects that did not happen. The Voice AI element makes this less conventional than most QA automation roles, since testing a voice and AI driven system raises different problems from testing a standard web application.
Not a fit if you are early in a quality career: at eight or more years this expects you to have already built and owned an automation framework end to end, not just contributed to one.
