BSc Forensic Science Computer Science VI Syllabus - Mumbai University 2026
This degree runs on the Choice Based Credit System throughout, items 6.10, 6.11 and 6.12 of the Academic Council of 17 May 2022, brought in one year at a time from 2022-23. The University has published no NEP 2020 syllabus for it. The University examines only the third year of this degree centrally, under exam forms 1S00815 and 1S00816; the colleges examine the first four semesters.

Module II: E-mail investigations: Exploring the role of email in
- investigations, exploring the role of client and server in email, investigating email crimes and violations, understanding email servers, using specialized email forensic tools.
- Introduction to Cell phone and mobile device forensics: Understanding mobile device forensic, understanding acquisition procedures for cell phones and mobile devices.
- File system analysis: What is file system? Different categories of data in file system, FAT ,NTFS and Ext file system and analysis
Module III: Introduction to Cyber Security:
- Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability – Triad.
- Attacks: Threats, Vulnerabilities and Risk. Risk Management,
