BSc Forensic Science Syllabus - Mumbai University 2026

This degree runs on the Choice Based Credit System throughout, items 6.10, 6.11 and 6.12 of the Academic Council of 17 May 2022, brought in one year at a time from 2022-23. The University has published no NEP 2020 syllabus for it. The University examines only the third year of this degree centrally, under exam forms 1S00815 and 1S00816; the colleges examine the first four semesters.

The University does not run this degree alone. Her own preamble records that the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, established three Institutes of Forensic Science — at Aurangabad, Mumbai and Nagpur — in 2009 and 2011, and that a study committee appointed in 2021 revised this syllabus specifically so that the content is the same at all three. The committee was drawn from the Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory and from the Institutes themselves.
