The University examines this degree under exam form 4945361 and spells it both "Bachelor of Performing Arts (Music-Hindustani Tabla)", in her Summer 2026 timetables, and "B.P.A. Syllabus for Riyaz Techniques Level III
The University’s title page for Semesters V and VI heads them "U.G. Second Year Programme". Her own credit structure two pages later levels the same two semesters "5.5 TYBPA" under the heading "Semester V and VI", and item 8.17 (R) calls the programme "U.G. Three Year Programme" while covering Semesters I to IV. They are the third year.
Course Objectives
- ) To understand the correct methods of Riyaz.
- To develop a profound awareness of the central role and purpose of the Riyaz and its part in the aesthetic creation in performance of Hindustani Classical Music.
- To improve the capacity of fingering.
- To get ease in sound production
- To improve the tonal quality
- To improve the grasping power by mental reyaz
Course Outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:
- Develop technical skills specific to Tabla. It strengthens finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, breath control, and overall physical agility required to perform intricate musical passages.
- Get control over techniques of Tabla.
- Produce a wide range of dynamics, master articulation techniques, execute precise ornamentations, and achieve smooth transitions between notes.
- Grasp the nuances of classical music.
- Maintain a steady tempo and execute intricate rhythmic variations.
- Improvise expandable compositions.
Module 1: Physical Reyaz
- Playing phrases having ghussa/Gamak/ Mind in Bayan.....( Ajrada Gharana Kayada )
- Playing chatasra jati rela having phrases tirkit/dindin/dhirdhir continuously for 7/10 minutes between 60-70bpm
Module 2: Mental Riyaj
- Padhant of Farmaishi and Kamali Chakradar with theka playing.
- Composing Tihais from any beat in any Taal.
