BFA Metal Work Project Work on the Selected Subject Syllabus - Mumbai University

This is the University of Mumbai syllabus for B.F.A. (Metal Work), Circular No. UG/210 of 2004 dated 28 May 2004 (Ordinances 5317 to 5323), in force from the academic year 2004-2005 and amended for the Third Year Execution/Application by Circular No. UG/352 of 2008. It is still the scheme examined: the University set the Summer 2026 papers on it, and has published no later B.F.A. syllabus. The Final Year B.F.A. examination is conducted by the University of Mumbai, on exam form 4O02464.

Group I (Theory) Lectures per Academic Year: 40 hours

  • During the second term every student should prepare a project work of approximately 5000 words on the selected subject, with practicals approved by the class teacher.
  • The student has to submit the synopsis of the proposed project / dessertation in the month of September to the Class-in-charge for approval. The synopsis should be in about 500 words about the outline of the subject. The final approval project / dissertation will be assessed by a panel of Examiners. The complete Project / Dissertation / Praticals has to be submitted to the class-in-charge atleast 25 days before the commencement date of the examinations. This project will have three main aspects :
  • Planning, search for materials, refrences and comparative studies, collection of date and other relevant facts.
  • Sketches, drawings, designing, photographs etc. and
  • Recording experience, technical problems & cost estimation
