Module I: Trade Union & Registration

  • Unit I: Trade Union
  • Meaning, Objective, role and functions of the Trade Unions in Modern Industrial Society of India, Trade Unionism in India
  • Grievance - Meaning and forms, sources of grievance, Grievance procedures, model grievance procedure. Disciplinary procedure
  • Unit II: Registration
  • Registration of Trade union, Immunities of Registered trade unions, Standing orders, Arbitration & Adjudication.
  • Trade Dispute, Rights to strike and New Role of Trade Unions -In the context of globalization, IT, trade and productivity.

Module II: Industrial Relations & Collective Bargaining

  • Unit I: Industrial Relations
  • Industrial Relations: Scope and Significance, Causes and Consequences of Industrial Disputes, Recent Trends in Industrial Relations.
  • Promotion of Harmonious Relations, Machinery for Prevention and Settlement of Industrial Disputes, Conciliation, Arbitration and Adjudication, Code of Discipline.
  • Unit II: Collective Bargaining
  • Collective Bargaining, CB Practices in India, Participative Management Forms and Levels, Schemes of Workers’ Participation in Management in India.
  • Labour codes – The Industrial Relation Code 2020,India and International Labour Standards
