How to use this volume
Solve the paper first, under exam conditions and against the clock. Then read the answers here and mark your own. Reading a solution before attempting the question feels productive and teaches very little, because recognising an answer is not the same as being able to write one.
Q.1: Answer in short
20 Marks - 2 marks each
Answer
A person in law is any being that the law regards as capable of rights and duties (Salmond). Persons are of two broad kinds, and the second has several forms.
1. Natural persons. Living human beings. Personality begins at birth and ends at death.
2. Legal (artificial or juristic) persons. Beings other than humans to which the law gives personality.
Not a legal person. A partnership firm in India is only a collective name for its partners.
Common feature. A legal person acts only through human agents, and can do only what its constitution and the law allow.
