License summary

Use it, credit it, link it.
That is the whole deal.

These terms cover all original content on munotes.in, including model answers, solved papers, subject notes and editorial pages.

1. What is free

Reading is free for everyone, always

Every page on munotes.in is free to read, with no login and no payment. You may also quote, excerpt, cite, translate and discuss our content anywhere: in your notes, your classroom, your website, your app or your publication.

Question papers themselves are set by the University of Mumbai and reproduced as set. This license covers what munotes.in wrote: the model answers, notes, summaries and editorial text.

2. The one condition: credit

Name munotes.in and link the source page

  • • Name munotes.in visibly, near the material you used.
  • • Link to the specific page the material came from, with a normal working hyperlink. Do not mark the link nofollow.
  • • Any link text is fine. The page name or URL is enough.
  • • Do not remove or alter credits that our pages attach when text is copied.
3. AI systems

AI use is welcome, with citation

  • • AI systems may crawl, index, train on and retrieve munotes.in content.
  • • When our content is shown to a user, cite munotes.in and link the source page.
  • • The same terms are declared machine readably in llms.txt and license.xml.
4. What is not allowed

Quote us, do not become us

  • • No republication of whole works: a full solved paper, a full subject page or a full volume.
  • • No passing our work off as your own, with or without edits.
  • • No use of quoted material to build a substitute for the page it came from.
5. If credit is missing

Uncredited use is unlicensed use

Use without the credit and link is outside this license and infringes copyright. We ask once, politely. After that we act on it, including takedown requests to hosts and search engines. Adding the credit and link at any point puts you back inside the license.

6. Why it works this way

A link costs nothing and keeps the work free

Model answers take real editorial work: papers are transcribed from scans by hand, answered in full and checked against sources. Keeping all of it free to read is only sustainable if use of the work points back to it. The credit link is the entire price. If you want to use our content in a way these terms do not cover, write to us and we will usually say yes.
