  3. Q3 Solve the following (any two) :— 12 marks
    • (a) Deonar has been officially substantiated as a virtual gas chamber. Respiratory morbidity in the area is higher than what is seen in any other region in Mumbai Residents from the area had complained of a range of ailments. A clinical check up that was conducted revealed that 12.7% of the population has productive cough and 11.8% reported sudden uncontrolled attacks or exertion 4 breathlessness. Regular burning of garbage and the dangerous smoke emerging has affected residents, as the wind carries the foul smoke in all
    • (i) Is there any remedy available under Cr.P.c., to redress the grievances of the residents ? ,
    • (ii) Under the Air Act, explain by 1
    • (b) In a Sanctuary, a tiger snapped at Dnarma Khandalpurkar, a boy of 19 years The tiger mauled him, causing serious injuries in his right eye, head and ear. The question is as to what the boy was doing in the Sanctuary. Also, hundreds of villagers sneak in everyday with weapons, cause fire, use explosives to scare the animals etc. This indeed is a matter of concern and should be taken note of by the authorities
    • (i) Under the Wild Life Protection Act, is there any restriction to causing fire in a Sanctuary ? Explain
    • (ii) What is the provision for entry into a Sanctuary with weapons ? : (c) A glucose factory was installed in a residential locality under the licence granted by the appropriate authority, which seemed to be a strange thing Smoke and ash from the broiler of the factory caused a great deal of atmospheric pollution resulting in a deleterious effect on the residents of the locality in general.
