1. Q13 The conflict between the Supreme court and the Supreme council reached a climax in this case. The Supreme court claimed its jurisdiction over the whole native population while the Supreme council opposed it. The parliament passed the Act of settlement 1781. 1) Identify the case and briefly state the facts? 2) Write in short the provisions of Act of settlement 1781.

2. Q14 In this case the Supreme Court held that in cases of disputed accounts, a person should be held to bail till the enquiry as to his obligation to pay was completed. The judges further stated that the ostensible holder of the land should not be imprisoned until his under renter had been called upon to pay the arrears and had proved to be insolvent. 1) What was the matter involved in the case? 2) What was the judgement of the Supreme Court?
