This is the backend and data role readers keep asking for, and the problem behind it is genuinely interesting. New Relic's NR Lens team builds a federated data platform: a distributed SQL query engine that lets customers connect external sources such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Google Sheets and AWS CloudWatch and query them directly, including joins across sources. You would work on the distributed query execution layer, the connector architecture and the API gateway. The stack is Java microservices on AWS with EKS, Terraform and CI/CD, and the security work is specific: validating user supplied JDBC connection parameters, preventing server side request forgery and allowlisting hostnames. Five years of professional Java. Hyderabad, with an on call rotation.
