New Relic
About this role
A full stack role on New Relic's Monetization Adoption team, working on the platform that ingests telemetry from customer applications at very large volume. The stack is React on the frontend with Java and Python behind it, and the scale claim in the posting is concrete: services processing millions of messages per second and handling petabytes of data. The AI component is more specific than most postings manage. You would build Model Context Protocol servers that expose New Relic telemetry to LLMs and AI agents, which is real engineering rather than a bolt on. Five years of full stack experience is the bar, preferably in SaaS or product environments. Bangalore.
Who this is for
What the posting asks for, listed as must haves:
- 5+ years of professional experience in full stack software development, preferably in a SaaS or product based environment.
- Proficiency with React (preferred) or Angular, with solid JavaScript and TypeScript, CSS and modern web standards.
- Strong backend expertise. The posting names Java and Python for the server side.
Day to day:
- Independently designing, developing and deploying scalable features using the UI framework on the frontend and Java or Python on the backend.
- Implementing AI enhanced workflows, including building Model Context Protocol servers that expose New Relic's telemetry data to LLMs and AI agents.
- Owning the reliability and performance of services processing very large data volumes, ensuring they are multi threaded and highly concurrent.
- Writing clean, well tested and maintainable code, reviewing peers' code and contributing to internal technical documentation.
- Working with product managers and designers to turn wireframes into production software.
- Identifying bottlenecks across the stack, from slow UI renders to inefficient backend queries.
⚠️ A location inconsistency worth knowing: the posting header states the location as Bangalore, India, but one paragraph in the body refers to joining a core data team in Hyderabad. We have published Bangalore because that is the stated location field and the explicit location line. Confirm with the recruiter before you plan around either city.
Location and office reality: Bangalore per the posting header. No office day policy is published.
Honest fit guidance: this is a genuine full stack role, so a backend engineer with weak React or a frontend engineer with weak Java will both find the interview uneven. The MCP and AI agent work is the most interesting part and it is real, not aspirational.
