About this role

JFrog builds Artifactory and the wider DevOps platform used to manage software binaries, with more than 8,000 customers including 75 percent of the Fortune 100. This role is in the Global PlatformOps group, monitoring and supporting the availability and performance of JFrog's multi cloud SaaS services: incident response, troubleshooting, building runbooks and automation, and working alongside SRE and cloud engineering on platform improvements. At three years it is one of the most reachable roles in this edition for someone with cloud operations, NOC or Linux systems administration experience. Two things are stated plainly and you should weigh them before applying: three days a week in the office is mandatory, and the role runs on a 24x7 rotating shift.

Who this is for

⚠️ Read this first. The posting states two conditions directly:
- Hybrid working with 3 days a week in the office is mandatory.
- The role works a 24x7x365 model, and the shift timings rotate every 4 months between APAC, EMEA and US time zones.
That rotation is the single biggest factor in whether this job suits you, so decide on it before anything else.

What the posting asks for:
- 3+ years of experience as a cloud operations engineer, NOC engineer and/or Linux system administrator.
- Working knowledge of public cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP) and Kubernetes orchestrated containerised workloads.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle several concurrent tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Described as a plus rather than required:
- Experience with monitoring and instrumentation tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic or Elastic.
- Experience with automation using Jenkins, Python or shell scripting.

Day to day: supporting all aspects of cloud operations day to day, monitoring availability, durability, performance, scale and uptime of JFrog's multi cloud SaaS services; analysing events, troubleshooting and running incident response; communicating with internal stakeholders and tracking problems through to resolution; building and maintaining standard operating procedures and team knowledge for monitoring and automation; and working closely with SRE, production engineering and cloud engineering on improvements.

Location and office reality: Bangalore, three mandatory office days a week, rotating 24x7 shifts.

Honest fit guidance: the technical bar is genuinely accessible at three years, and the monitoring and automation items are plus points rather than requirements, so do not screen yourself out over them. The shift rotation is the real trade. This is a good route into cloud operations at a well known DevOps company if rotating hours work for your circumstances, and a poor one if they do not.
