Senior Software Engineer | Data Pipeline

This is the core backend role at Fivetran and it answers the request readers make most often on this board: backend and data, at a company where the pipeline is the product. You would work on the service that moves terabytes of customer data into warehouses, running on a global Kubernetes cluster, in Java and SQL across AWS, GCP and Azure. The work is described as deliberately varied, from patching existing software to building new connectors, and it includes turning raw movement into clean incremental updates. Note that Fivetran and dbt Labs are merging and both names appear during recruiting. Five years is the stated floor. Bangalore with two office days a week, which is one of the lighter attendance requirements in this edition.

What the posting asks for:
- 5+ years of experience.
- Strong technical and problem solving skills with recent hands on software development.
- Experience with reliable distributed systems, with an emphasis on high volume data management in enterprise or web scale platforms operating under strict SLAs.

Day to day: working with cloud APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases and event streams; working on the core data pipeline that moves terabytes from customers into their warehouses; and processing that data into clean, incremental, automated updates. You are also expected to own technical quality for your team's services, review code, contribute to architecture and mentor junior colleagues.

Location and office reality: Bangalore, full time, hybrid with two days a week in the office.
