Registration for AIBE XXII is open right now. The exam is on 29 November 2026 and registration closes on 27 October 2026.
This page was written on 23 September 2026 and every date on it is taken from the Bar Council's own registration portal. That matters more than it sounds, because the official AIBE information site and the portal do not currently agree with each other, and only one of them has the AIBE XXII schedule on it.

The result window is the Bar Council's own word, tentatively. It appears in the same schedule and in the Bar Council's press release of 18 July 2026. Treat it as an intention, not a promise, and do not book anything around it.
Read the dates on the portal, not on the information site
There are two official web addresses in this exam's life and they are not interchangeable.
- allindiabarexamination.com is the information site. Notices, guidelines, syllabus, press releases, answer keys.
- aibe.digivarsity.online is the registration portal. This is where you actually apply, pay, correct and download the admit card.
On 23 September 2026, the information site still headlines AIBE XXI, the exam that was sat on 7 June 2026 and whose result came out on 18 July 2026. The portal has AIBE XXII open. Both are official, one is behind, and the one that is behind is the one most people land on from a search.
This is not a small drafting lag either. The Bar Council of India's own AIBE page is stale in a deeper way: its address still says aibe-xvii, it prints the old syllabus with the Indian Penal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code instead of the new Sanhitas, and it describes an exam in 40 cities lasting three and a half hours. It is a primary source and it is out of date. When two official pages disagree about AIBE XXII, the portal running AIBE XXII is the one to believe.
Registering is not the same as applying
The single most expensive misunderstanding on this schedule is thinking that "registration closes on 27 October" means one action. It is two, and the portal says so in its own instructions:

Next Login again by Clicking on Applicant Login button to complete your form submission.
So you register, you are sent a registration number, and then you come back, log in as an applicant and fill the form. People who stop after the first step believe they have applied. They have not. The form runs seven steps: Registration, Address Detail, Educational Details, Examination, Attachment, Declaration, Payment.
If the registration number does not arrive, the portal's own published remedy is one line:
Please check your E-Mail Spam Box, if message is not received in your Inbox.
That is the only remedy the Bar Council has published for this. There is a help desk number on the portal home page, 07553128691, 011-49225023 and 011-49225022, and a Grievance Redressal link that works without logging in. Nothing is published about what either will do or how fast, so we are not going to promise you anything about them.
One thing you cannot fix later
The account creation page carries this warning in its own instructions:
Important: Your mobile number entered during registration will be used throughout the portal and cannot be changed later.
There is a correction window for the form. There is no correction route for that number. Use a number you will still have in January 2027.
The three dates at the end of October are three different things
They sit within four days of each other and they are not the same deadline.
- 27 October: the last day to register. After this, you cannot start.
- 28 October: the last day to pay online. A submitted form that has not been paid for is not an application. The portal's own line is that "Fees is mandatory and applicable for Online Registration for all Candidates".
- 30 October: the last day to correct the registration form. This is your only published chance to fix a wrong entry.
The practical reading: do the whole thing in one sitting, well before 27 October, and keep the 30 October window as the safety net it is meant to be, not as the plan.
The dates that are not published yet
Be careful here, because this is where confident pages start inventing things.
The AIBE XXII Examination Guidelines have not been published. That is the document that carries the reporting time, the entry cut off, the carry in rules and the scribe rules. For AIBE XXI, the Guidelines said reporting at 11:30 and entry closing at 13:15. Those are AIBE XXI's times and you should not assume they carry over. Scribe arrangements changed between AIBE XX and AIBE XXI, which is exactly why we date stamp this instead of repeating it as a rule.
No AIBE XXII objection window or rechecking window has been published. For AIBE XXI, the objection window ran from 10 June 2026 at 20:00 to 17 June 2026 at 23:59, at Rs 500 per objection, refunded where an objection was found valid, and with only one submission permitted per candidate. OMR rechecking was separate and later, from 28 July 2026 at 17:00 to 4 August 2026 at 17:00, with its own Rs 500 fee and no stated refund. Use that as the shape of what usually follows a result, not as your calendar.
Two dates after the result that catch people out
6 January 2027. Candidates who sat under the undertaking route, meaning without an enrolment certificate, have until that date to file their enrolment certificate. That deadline is from a site notice of 7 July 2026. This is a very large group: in AIBE XXI, 95,962 of the 1,75,701 candidates were in the undertaking category, about 55% of the hall.
The Certificate of Practice has no published timeline. It is awarded by the Bar Council of India, dispatched to State Bar Councils and collected from there. In the Bar Council's own words about an earlier edition, the certificates were dispatched "to all State Bar Councils" and candidates were asked "to collect their COP from their respective State Bar Councils". The only sequence we can evidence end to end is AIBE XVIII: exam sat 10 December 2023, dispatch notified 27 August 2024, completed 17 October 2024. That is roughly eight to ten months, and it is one observed case, not a rule. Also worth knowing: the online versions in the AIBE app are "not printable, nor downloadable" and the Bar Council says they "do not hold any validity, as they are only drafts for correction purposes".
How the last two editions actually ran
If you want a feel for whether these schedules hold, look at what happened the last two times.

Both results landed roughly five to six weeks after the exam. The tentative AIBE XXII window of 7 to 10 January 2027 sits about the same distance after 29 November 2026, so it is at least consistent with how the last two ran.
Note the gaps between the exams as well. AIBE XX was sat in November 2025, AIBE XXI in June 2026, AIBE XXII in November 2026. Three exams inside about twelve months. We are not going to tell you that is now a fixed twice yearly cadence, because the Bar Council has published no statement of cadence at all. What it does mean is that the recent pattern has not been one exam a year, which is the assumption most pages are still written on.

Where a date for AIBE XXII has not been published, this page says so rather than reusing AIBE XXI's. If the Bar Council publishes the AIBE XXII Guidelines or the objection window, we will update this page and date the change.
What to do next
Work backwards from 29 November 2026.
- This week: register on the portal, then log in again and finish all seven steps of the form. Pay on the same day.
- Before 30 October: reopen your submitted form and read every field once more, especially name, category and exam city.
- 14 November: download the admit card the day it goes live, not the night before, so there is time if something on it is wrong.
- From now until 29 November: sit real papers under the real clock.
