Module 1: Introduction to Psychological Testing and Basic Psychometrics

• 1 Test development and construction: Conceptualization, Item pool, content validity and expert review, item analysis
• 2 Reliability and types: Test-Retest, Parallel and alternate forms, Split-half, Kuder- Richardson, Cronbach’s alpha
• 3 Validity and types: Face validity, content validity, criterion validity, construct validity
• 4 Norming: z-score, T score, percentiles, sten scores, stanines, Types of norms (age, gender, etc)

Module 2: Practice Exercises – Two Exercises

• 1 Test construction example given – Discuss process of construction, theorisation reliability, validity, item analysis
• 2 Scale construction example given – Discuss process of construction, theorisation reliability, validity, item analysis
• 3 Step-wise procedure of computing reliability coefficient and validity

Module 3: Practice Scale – One

• 1 Conduct the scales: Diener’s 5-item Subjective Well-being Scale
• 2 Review Original Article and literature
• 3 Compute reliability coefficient and validity
• 4 Write result and discussion of group data using APA format

Module 4: Three Psychological Tests

• 1 Conduct one ability test (Standard Progressive Matrices): Report individual data, pool group data, compute appropriate statistics, write report
• 2 Conduct one uni-dimensional psychological scales (Oxford Happiness Scale): Report individual data, pool group data, compute required statistics, write report
• 3 Conduct one multi-dimensional psychological scales (IPIP-NEO): Report individual data, pool group data, compute required statistics, write report
