The University examines this degree under exam form 4945361 and spells it both "Bachelor of Performing Arts (Music-Hindustani Tabla)", in her Summer 2026 timetables, and "B.P.A. Syllabus for Practical Paper - Viva Voce
The University’s title page for Semesters V and VI heads them "U.G. Second Year Programme". Her own credit structure two pages later levels the same two semesters "5.5 TYBPA" under the heading "Semester V and VI", and item 8.17 (R) calls the programme "U.G. Three Year Programme" while covering Semesters I to IV. They are the third year.
Course Objectives
- To render Thekas and their variation of Rudra, Punjabi, Pashto
- Ability to render Peshakar and Chatasra and Tisra Jati Kayadas and Relas in Pancham sawari having Phrase tit and tirkit with at least eight variations and Tihai/Chakradar.
- Ability to render Gat tukadas and Chakradars in rupak with Padhant.
- Ability to compose Tihai in and sawari with given phrase.
- Ability to render expandable and non expandable compositions in matt taal.
Course Outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:
- Understand & appreciate the facets of Peshkar and Kayada improvisation.
- Render the single, double ,triple and quadruple of thekas. Present few expandable and non-expandable compositions in pancham sawari and matt taal
Module 1: Presentation of Kayada composition in Pancham sawari
- Peshkar and Chatasra Jati Kayada with phrase tit and tirkit ,dingin etc..
- Tisra Jati Kayada with phrase tit/tirkit
Module 2: Presentation of compositions in Pancham sawari
- Rela with phrase tirkit
- Gat Tukadas and Chakradar with Padhant
Module 3: Presentation of following Taalas in single, double, triple and quadruple speed ( By table and hands both). Rudra,Punjabi, Pashto
Module 4: Presentation in Matt Taal and Teentaal
- One kayda,one rela, 4 to 5 tukadas in matt taal
- Mishra jati kayda in teentaal.
