Syllabus for History of Music
Course Objectives
- To provide a historical context for understanding music.
- To gain insights into the factors that shaped Music, its creation, performance, and reception.
- To trace the evolution of musical styles, genres, and forms over time.
- To study the contribution of experts in the field of music.
Course Outcomes
By the end of the module students will:
- Understand how the instrument evolve and how changes come in anatomy as well as playing techniques
- To understand the contribution of artistes of past and present era.
- Knowledge of the pioneer Gharana of Tabla.
