PGD Block Chain Technology Programming with Python Practical Syllabus - Mumbai University

This is the University of Mumbai syllabus for the P.G. Diploma in Block Chain Technology under NEP 2020, approved by the Academic Council on 7 July 2023 and in force from the academic year 2023-24. It is the only syllabus the University has published for this diploma, and it has not been revised since.

Unit I 30 hrs [OC1, OC3]

  • a Basic Concepts: Variables and data types, Arithmetic operations, Conditional statements (if, elif, else), Loops (for, while), Functions
  • and Modules: Define and call functions, Parameters and return values, Built-in functions, Create and import modules b) Lists and Tuples: Create and manipulate lists, Access elements in a list, List slicing and concatenation, Tuples and tuple operations,
  • Strings: String manipulation and concatenation, String indexing and slicing, String methods, String formatting c) Dictionary and Sets: Create and access dictionary elements, Dictionary methods and operations, Create and use sets, Set operations and methods, File Handling: Read from and write to files, File modes (read, write, append), Working with CSV files, Exception handling for file operations

Unit II 30hrs [OC2, OC5]

  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Classes and objects Constructors and attributes, Methods and inheritance, Polymorphism and encapsulation
  • Exception Handling: Try-except blocks, Handling specific exceptions, Finally block and resource cleanup, Raising custom exceptions
  • Advanced Topics: Regular expressions, Lambda functions, List comprehensions, Generators and iterators
  • External Libraries and APIs: Working with popular libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib), Interacting with web APIs (requests library), Handling JSON data
