Dance (Odissi) Part-Time Courses Diploma Course Syllabus - Mumbai University

This is the syllabus the University of Mumbai brought into force for these courses with effect from the academic year 2017-18, by Circular No. UG/151 of 2018-19 (Ad-hoc Board of Studies in Dance, 15 February 2017; Academic Council, 30 July 2017, item No. 4.34; Management Council, 28 November 2017, item No. 03). The University has published no revision of it since.

The University has not published an examination timetable or result register for these courses in the four examination seasons to Summer 2026, and the college that teaches them sets no examination for them in its own 2026-27 academic calendar. Confirm with your college that the course is running before you rely on this page for an examination.

These are three separate one-year part-time courses, not three years of one course, and the University examines each of them once at the end of its year. There is no semester level here because her syllabus sets none.

Diploma Course in Dance (Odissi) is a one-year part-time, self-financing course, set under Ordinances 6440 and 6441, Regulations 9167 and 9168. A Candidate for being eligible for admission must have passed either Certificate Course in Dance (Odissi) of University of Mumbai or a graduate in any discipline from a statutory university and having learnt Odissi for minimum 3 years. This course can be done simultaneously while pursuing a degree of the University in any discipline.

The University sets one theory paper and two practicals for this course, 300 marks in all, examined at the end of the year.
