B.F.A. (Painting) Head Study Painting Syllabus - Mumbai University
This is the University of Mumbai syllabus for the B.F.A. (Painting), the Revised Course in force from the academic year 2004-2005. It is still the current scheme: MU has never revised it, the University's own Faculty of Fine Art register still lists this degree as Ordinance O.5310 under Circular No. UG/210 of 2004, and the syllabus below is what MU's Summer 2026 examinations were set on.

Syllabus for Head Study Painting
- With knowledge of planes and structure study of head up to shoulders. Painting in limited colour palette with proper understanding of light and shade masses. Introduction of oil colour, acrylic, and water colours, etc.
Studio Practicals per Academic Year : 80 Hours; Assignments per Academic Year : 8. Duration : 10 Hours; Paper : 60 marks; Term Work : 40 marks.
