B.Ed. (Full Time) Syllabus - Mumbai University

This is the syllabus under the University of Mumbai’s Credit Based Choice System, in force from the academic year 2017-18. It is the syllabus currently examined: the University set all four semesters of this course on it in the Winter 2025 and Summer 2026 examinations, and it has published no revision.

This is the full-time B.Ed.: two years and four semesters, under the University’s Credit Based Choice System. It is the syllabus set for the examinations held each Winter and Summer.

The University also runs a separate part-time B.Ed. for teachers already in service — three years and six semesters, under its own ordinance and the older Credit Based Grading System. That is a different syllabus from this one and is not set out here. The University’s current examination timetables carry no part-time B.Ed.

The University’s credit structure also sets 30 credits of Project Based Courses — Internship, Community work and Action Research. It publishes no syllabus for them: they are assessed by the college as the Practicum, so there is no University syllabus page for them here.

In Semester II you take one Pedagogy of School Subject, and in Semester III you take a second one — a different subject from the first, or Peace Education or Education for Rural Development instead. The University prints the pedagogy syllabus for each subject in both semesters, and the two printings are all but identical, so both are set out here as she sets them.
