This is the Second Year Biomedical Rev 2019 C Scheme syllabus under REV-2019 'C' Scheme, in force from the academic year 2020-21. The University also publishes a NEP 2020 syllabus for Semesters III and IV, which is what the current second year is taught; this scheme is what ATKT candidates of the earlier batches still sit. Syllabus for Computing Lab (Skill Based Lab)

Semester 4 · Second Year Biomedical Rev 2019 C Scheme · 2 credits · 50 marks

Module 1: Introduction to Python

  • Installation and resources; Introduction of the Python object types: Numbers, Strings, Lists, Tuples, Dictionaries, Arrays; Numeric types; Assignments; Expressions; Print statements and formats.

Module 2

  • Decision Control Statements and Functions: if and else statement, if-elif-else statement, Loop Statement: While loops, for loops, Break, Continue, and Pass, Functions: Defining and calling functions, Return statements, Passing the arguments, Lambda Functions, Recursive functions.

Module 3

  • Files Handling: Types of Files in Python, Opening a File, Closing a File. Writing Text Files, Knowing Whether a File Exists or Not, Working with Binary Files, Appending Text to a File, Reading Text Files, File Exceptions, The with Statement

Module 4

  • Object Oriented Programming: Introduction to OOP: Classes and Objects, Public and Private Members, Class Declaration and Object Creation, Object Initialization, Class Variables and methods, Accessing Object and Class Attributes; Inheritance; Constructors; Exception handling.

Module 5: Numpy, Matplotlib:

  • Introduction to Numpy: Creating and Printing Ndarray, Class and Attributes of Ndarray, Basic operation, Copy and view, Mathematical Functions of Numpy. Introduction to Matplotlib library: Line properties, Plots and subplots, Types of Plots.

Module 6: Pandas, Seaborn:

  • Introduction to Pandas: Understanding Dataframe, View and Select Data, Missing Values, Data Operations, File read and write operation. Introduction to Seaborn.
