Syllabus for IKS in Business Management
Module I: Introduction to IKS in Management
- Meaning, scope, and relevance of IKS in business management, Historical Roots of Indian Management Thoughts, Overview of ancient Indian society and Gurukul learning systems, Overview of Indian philosophical traditions in governance and administration.
- Indian Epics and Management- Managerial implications of Vedas and Upanishads, Lessons from Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and Mahabharata on ethical decision-making. Indian Approaches to Leadership & Motivation- Leadership principles in Indian thought (e.g., Nishkama Karma, dharma-based ethics).
Module II: Indian Business Culture & Modern Application
- Indian Business Culture-Values like satya (truth), ahimsa (non-violence) and seva (service) in business, Ethics and Corporate Responsibility-Dharma-based business ethics and sustainability. Case Studies of Traditional Indian Business Models-Examples (drawing from IKS perspective).
- Applying IKS in Modern Management- Indian ethos in HRM and organizational behaviour, Dharma-based corporate ethics and sustainability, Contemporary Relevance- Application of IKS principles in ethical leadership, stakeholder management and sustainable business practices.
