B.Com. (Actuarial Studies) Syllabus - Mumbai University

This is the syllabus under NEP 2020, in force from the academic year 2026-27. It is the only syllabus this degree has ever had: the University approved the course on 18 May 2026 and the first students were admitted the same year, so there is no earlier scheme to check yours against.

B.Com. (Actuarial Studies) is a new degree. The University's Academic Council approved it on 18 May 2026 and the first students were admitted in 2026-27, so Semesters I and II below are the whole syllabus the University has issued and the whole of what this first year is taught. The syllabus is issued one year at a time, and Semesters III to VI follow as each year begins.

One syllabus, five exits. The University sets a one-year U.G. Certificate in Actuarial Studies, a two-year U.G. Diploma, the three-year B.Com. (Actuarial Studies), and the four-year B.Com. (Hons.) and B.Com. (Hons. with Research) in Actuarial Studies. The B.Com. itself runs six semesters: the circular's particulars table and its credit structures both set it at three years. Appendix B of the same circular says four years, which is the Honours route.
