  • Unit 2: International Financial System
  • Global Financial Architecture – Structure, components, and functions.
  • International Financial Institutions (IFIs) – IMF, World Bank, BIS: roles and relevance.
  • Global Capital Flows – FDI, FPI, remittances, and their impact on economies.
  • International Money Markets – Euro-dollar market, Eurobond market, global interest rate trends.

Module II: Foreign Exchange & Currency Markets

  • Unit 3: Foreign Exchange Markets
  • Nature and Structure of Forex Market – Spot, forward, futures, and options markets.

Module III: International Trade Financing

  • Unit 5: Trade Finance Instruments Documentary Credit (LCs) – Types, process, parties, UCP guidelines. Bills of Exchange – Documentary bills, acceptance, discounting. Bank Guarantees – Types, uses, and risks involved. Factoring & Forfaiting – Concepts, benefits, comparison.
  • Unit 6: Export-Import Procedures and Financing Export Finance – Pre-shipment and post-shipment finance. Import Financing – Short-term and long-term financing options. EXIM Policy – Overview of India’s foreign trade policy. Role of EXIM Bank & ECGC – Financing support and credit risk protection.

Module IV: International Banking Operations & Regulation

  • Unit 7: International Banking Operations
  • Correspondent Banking – Functions and significance in global transactions.
  • Cross-Border Banking Services – Remittances, NRI accounts, offshore banking centers.
  • Syndicated Lending – Structure, process, and risk sharing.
  • International Investment Banking – Underwriting, M&A advisory, global capital raising.
  • Unit 8: Regulatory Framework and Compliance
  • Basel Norms (I, II, III & IV) – Capital adequacy, liquidity, risk weighting.
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & KYC Norms – FATF guidelines and compliance.
  • International Banking Regulations – Home-host regulation, cross-border supervision.
  • Challenges in International Banking – Geopolitical risks, sanctions, compliance costs.
