Module 1: Theories of Leadership

  • 1 Introduction to Leadership Philosophy, Trait and Behavioral leadership
  • 2 Contingency leadership: Path goal and Situational leadership
  • 3 Integrative leadership: Transformational and Servant leadership.

Module 2: Philosophers' Perspective on Leadership

  • 1 Plato's concept of the philosophical leader, the reference to Philosopher-King (The Virtues of Philosophical Leadership)
  • 2 Friedrich Nietzsche’s views on Leadership: Will to Power
  • 3 Jean-Jacques Rousseau's views on leadership.

Module 3: Indian Philosophy and Leadership

  • 1 The Bhagavad Gita and Leadership Ethics Nishkama karma
  • (selfless action) and duty-based leadership.: (भगवद गीता: अध्याय 3, श्लोक 21यथा
  • राजा तथा प्रजा )
  • 2 Leadership in Indian philosophical context: Satya, Ahimsa, Dharma and karma, and selfless leadership.
  • 3 Case Study (Swami Vivekanand, Mahatma Gandhi or any other relevant example)

Module 4: Contemporary Perspective on Leadership

  • 1 Moral Responsibility in Leadership – Governance and ethical leadership
  • 2 Political Leadership: The role of philosophy in political leadership
  • Sustainability, Holistic Leadership and Peace building.
  • 3 Environmental ethics and well-being - Championing social responsibility.
