This is the deepest systems role Druva is advertising, and it is a genuine distributed filesystem job. The work described includes metadata versioning and change tracking over petabyte scale cloud data, integrating third party secondary storage appliances for data centre protection, extending the filesystem to store workloads beyond files and folders such as emails and messages, and optimising the filesystem for cost by using cheaper cloud storage tiers and reducing IO requests. That last one is a real engineering problem, not a footnote. The requirement is 6+ years, preferably at a product company with storage architecture exposure, plus demonstrable systems programming in multithreading, synchronisation, fault tolerance and data consistency at scale, and hands on Go, Python, C, C++ or Java on Unix or Linux. Who this is for
Required by the posting: 6+ years of experience, preferably in a product company with exposure to storage architectures. Strong demonstrable experience in systems programming, specifically multithreading, synchronisation, fault tolerance and data consistency at scale. Hands on experience designing and developing complex products. Extensive hands on experience in Go, Python, C, C++ or Java on Unix or Linux platforms. A strong understanding of computer architecture, data structures, algorithms, design concepts and programming practices. Experience with service oriented architecture, especially on the service backend.
Desirable rather than required: excellent written and verbal communication; cloud technologies, preferably AWS; working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; working knowledge of storage and file systems including file system consistency checks; and hands on experience using generative AI for code generation.
