Stripe's Regional Expansion Platform team decides how Stripe proves a new region can safely take payment traffic, and this Staff seat leads that. The work is unusually concrete for a senior infrastructure role: define the checks that must pass before a launch or failover, build validation systems that replay real production paths against regional infrastructure, and turn those checks into CI/CD gates and operator workflows rather than manual checklists. The real day to day: defining evidence based readiness criteria for regional launches, traffic migrations and failovers, replacing manual checklists with repeatable patterns; identifying and mitigating risks on critical payment paths and validating that platform mitigations measurably reduce impact; leading cross functional delivery for new region infrastructure including safe service behaviour for remote control planes; building reusable validation tooling that speeds infrastructure integration for new acquisitions; converting recurring operational friction into platform capabilities; leading technical conversations and defining decision mechanisms across Core Infrastructure and product teams; developing a multi year technical strategy with quarterly milestones; debugging production issues across the stack; and mentoring senior engineers to grow the Bangalore technical bench.
