About this role
ClickHouse is running a Postgres initiative alongside its analytics database, so customers can wire Postgres and ClickHouse together into one data workflow. This role builds that platform. It is deliberately broad: backend services that provision and manage database clusters, extending a control plane written in Ruby, Go and TypeScript, contributing Postgres extensions and data plane agents in C, C++ or Rust, and building the automation for cluster provisioning, scaling and lifecycle. You will also own APIs, observability and deployment safety, and take an on call rotation. Apply if you know Postgres properly, configuration, extensions, operations and performance tuning, and you are comfortable moving between languages rather than staying in one. It is remote in India, and it is one of the few genuinely remote backend jobs on this board.
Who this is for
Required by the posting: 6+ years in software engineering, ideally building or operating database or cloud platform systems. Deep Postgres understanding across configuration, extensions, operations and performance tuning. Strong programming in one or several of Ruby, Go, Rust, C or Python, plus a stated willingness to work across languages rather than stay in one. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, APIs and automation tooling (Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD). Understanding of distributed systems, data replication and service orchestration patterns.

ClickHouse is a globally distributed, remote friendly company operating in over 20 countries and provides a home office setup allowance for remote employees.
