About this role
Coinbase is the largest listed cryptocurrency exchange in the United States. The Customer Administration Engineering team builds the secure platforms behind customer data operations, and its flagship product, Control Center, is the internal system of action used by specialists across customer experience, compliance, legal, global investigations and trust and risk. It serves roughly 7,000 internal users through its interface and powers a growing set of internal tools and AI automation through its backend APIs. The team is at an inflection point, turning Control Center from a human specialist interface into a modular platform that AI agents can operate. As Staff engineer you are the technical anchor: architecting foundational capabilities including tool registries, AI orchestration layers and risk based access automation, designing agentic guardrails and human in the loop orchestration, authoring technical design documents and mentoring engineers.
