About this role
Graviton Research Capital is a privately funded quantitative trading firm in Gurugram that trades across asset classes using statistical models built on terabytes of market data. This role is the first line of defence for the systems that trading runs on. You watch production services and trading infrastructure, respond to alerts and outages, triage problems across services, databases and infra, then drive the root cause analysis so the same thing does not happen twice. Beyond firefighting you build automation to remove manual steps, improve monitoring and alerting, and write the runbooks and SLO metrics the desk depends on. The stack is Python and shell on Linux, with SQL and NoSQL databases underneath. This is one of the genuinely open entry level roles on the board today: the posting asks for up to two years, so recent graduates are inside the range.
Who this is for
What the posting asks for: a degree in a highly analytical field such as Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science, and up to 2 years of experience with Python and shell or Bash scripting. You need working Linux and command line skills, hands on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, strong problem solving and analytical ability, clear communication, and the temperament to stay calm and methodical while production is broken.
Nice to have, not required: familiarity with monitoring and alerting stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana or ELK, exposure to Kafka and Redis, experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, and any prior time in a support, SRE or production engineering role.
The real day to day: monitoring production services and trading systems, responding fast to alerts, incidents and outages, triaging across trading support services, databases and infrastructure, escalating to the right owners, and driving fixes to completion. You will also build automation to cut repeated manual work, improve observability by extending monitoring, logging and alerting, and maintain operational runbooks and SLO and SLA metrics.
