Syllabus for Practical in Marine Biotechnology
- 1 Study of any 2 marine bacteria or algae (Macro and micro)
- 2 DPPH assay for antioxidants extracted from marine algae.
- 3 Extraction of carotenoids from marine algae / Bacteria / Fungi.
- 4 Extraction and estimation of Gelatin from Fish.
- 5 Extraction of Collagen from Fish
- 6 Estimation of Collagen by Bradford method.
- 7 Extraction of alkaloids from marine organisms
- 8 Separation of marine alkaloids by TLC
- 9 Estimation of chlorophyll content in marine algae.
- 10 Enumeration of marine microorganisms.
- 11 Gram staining and biochemical analysis of marine isolates.(Any 2)
- 12 Antimicrobial activity of marine isolates.
- 13 Screening for marine enzyme producers i.e. amylase, protease, lipase.
