  • 1 Determination of total solids from effluent sample.
  • 2 Study of physicochemical parameters of industrial effluent :
  • a BOD b. COD c. pH d.Colour e.Turbidity.
  • 3 To study the microbial degradation of dye/oil using microorganisms.
  • 4 Study of the effect of heavy metals on the growth of the bacteria.
  • 5 Study of biodegradation of detergent.
  • 6 Phytoremediation experiment using aquatic plants – Removal of heavy metals or nutrients
  • 7 Field Study and Report thereof (Students are required to visit any local industry, river or other site and prepare a study report thereof. The field study will be evaluated on the basis of report and presentation)
  • 8 Visit to ETP/CETP.
  • 9 Case studies of Successful Biotechnological Interventions
  • a Bioremediation of Oil Spill – Exxon Valdez, Alaska.
  • b Ganga River Bioremediation (India).
  • c Phytoremediation of Heavy Metals – Sunflower Plants.
