This is the Second Year Biomedical Rev 2019 C Scheme syllabus under REV-2019 'C' Scheme, in force from the academic year 2020-21. Syllabus for Electronic circuit analysis and design (Abbreviated as ECAD)
Module 1
- Basics of Diodes: Construction, Working, Characteristics, Current Equation & Equivalent circuits of P-N Junction Diode as well as Zener Diode; Applications of Diode: Clipper & Clamper.
Module 2
- Basics & DC analysis of BJT: Construction; Working and Characteristics of 3 different configurations of BJT; Quiescent point, DC load line, BJT Biasing techniques (Fixed, Self, Voltage Divider, Collector to base, Collector to base self) and BJT as a switch.
Module 3
- BJT as an Amplifier: A.C. Equivalent Model: re model, h-parameter model (Exact and Approximate) and Hybrid-π model; A.C. Analysis (Using any one model): A.C. load line, A.C. analysis of CE, CB, CC amplifier configurations, Effects of R S & RL, Low frequency and High frequency analysis of Single stage amplifiers; Design of single stage amplifier using BJT.
Module 4
- Multistage Amplifier: Need of cascading; Types of coupling; D.C. and A.C. analysis of CS-CE cascade configuration, Cascode amplifier, Darlington amplifier.
Module 5
- Power Amplifiers: Classes of Power amplifiers; Class-A Power Amplifiers (Direct coupled and Transformer coupled), Class-B Power Amplifiers, Crossover distortion, Harmonic distortion, Class-AB Push Pull and Complementary Symmetry Power amplifier, Class-C Power Amplifier, Class A and B/AB Power amplifier design, Heat Sinks and its design.
Module 6
- MOSFET: Comparison of BJT & FET, Classification, Characteristics, Biasing of MOSFET, MOSFET as an amplifier & MOSFET as a switch.
