B.F.A. (Painting) Still Life Painting Syllabus - Mumbai University

This is the University of Mumbai syllabus for the B.F.A. (Painting), the Revised Course in force from the academic year 2004-2005. It is still the current scheme: MU has never revised it, the University's own Faculty of Fine Art register still lists this degree as Ordinance O.5310 under Circular No. UG/210 of 2004, and the syllabus below is what MU's Summer 2026 examinations were set on.

Syllabus for Still Life Painting

Second Year · Group II (Practicals) · 100 marks

  • Study of man made and natural objects when arranged in a group. Here effect of lighting, shadows high lights and the drapery are studied. Candidates study the association of forms and colour harmony. Multichromatic palette can be used.

Studio Practicals per Academic Year : 80 Hours; Assignments per Academic Year : 8. Duration : 10 Hours; Paper : 60 marks; Term Work : 40 marks.
