About this role
This is the most senior engineering role in Tekion's group in today's edition, and it is a platform architecture seat rather than a delivery one. You would lead the architecture and design of the integration and system integrator platforms that connect Tekion's products to internal and third party systems, define the patterns and standards other engineering teams follow, and select the technologies and frameworks the platform is built on. Event driven application design at scale is called out specifically as required experience. The role also covers architecture reviews, spotting bottlenecks and vulnerabilities before they bite, and mentoring engineering teams on architectural practice. Good fit if you have built integration platforms and want the standard setting seat rather than another feature backlog.
Who this is for
Asks for 10+ years of relevant experience in software development and architecture with a focus on building platforms or large scale systems, plus a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field. Experience building event driven applications at scale is stated as a requirement.
Day to day: lead the architecture and design of the integration and system integrator platforms, keeping them aligned with business objectives and technical strategy; define and promote architectural patterns, best practices and standards across the engineering organisation; work with development teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable, modular solutions; evaluate and select technologies, frameworks and tools; oversee integration with internal and third party systems, ensuring data integrity and performance; conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance through the development lifecycle; identify and address potential bottlenecks, vulnerabilities and system failures; maintain documentation of architecture, processes and best practices; track emerging technologies and evaluate their impact on the platform; and mentor and coach engineering teams on architectural principles.
