About this role
SingleStore is a real time data platform that combines transactions, analytics, search and AI workloads in one system, delivered as a managed cloud service. This role is on the Aura AI Platform team, which runs customer workloads on top of that database: notebooks, scheduled jobs, cloud functions, Python UDFs, model hosting, inference APIs and AI agents. You would build and operate the services underneath, container pools, resource scaling, routing, role based access control, billing, observability and secure network access between clusters, across multiple regions and clouds. It is genuine distributed systems and platform work in Go, Python or Rust with Kubernetes, and the posting is explicit that you share on call. Good fit if you want infrastructure depth rather than application features.
Who this is for
Asks for 5+ years working on a SaaS product. Required: experience with distributed systems, ideally in Golang, Python or Rust; experience with Kubernetes or containerised services; intellectual curiosity about investigating issues that affect business metrics; a focus on building robust, maintainable products in a fast paced team environment; strong communication with an interest in mentoring peers; and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred: cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure or GCP; experience building developer platforms, compute platforms, ML platforms or serverless and container execution environments; experience with frontend frameworks such as React; and prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.
Day to day: design, build and maintain the platform powering internal and customer facing intelligent services on SingleStore; lead cross functional technical initiatives from conception to deployment while mentoring other engineers; work with product managers, designers, customers and engineers on delivery quality; drive engineering standards across system design, code quality, testing, observability and CI/CD; and share on call responsibilities while improving reliability, security and cost efficiency of the cloud infrastructure.
