This role builds the next generation of its database observability product, and the scope is unusually broad for one listing: lightweight agents that pull telemetry out of relational and NoSQL engines under load, high throughput ingestion pipelines, recommendation engines that spot slow queries, index fragmentation and schema anti patterns, and AI agents that do automated root cause analysis. The stack named includes Kafka for event driven streaming, REST and GraphQL backend services, and React with TypeScript at the front. Requires 5+ years of professional experience building and operating production grade software, with mastery of at least one major backend language.
Day to day: architect, develop and scale high throughput, low latency ingestion pipelines and backend services for database metrics, slow query logs, execution plans and telemetry; develop lightweight agents and collectors that safely extract telemetry and execution statistics from diverse relational and NoSQL engines under high load; design engines that automatically detect slow queries, index fragmentation, schema anti patterns and resource exhaustion and turn them into actionable recommendations; build AI agents using agentic AI, Model Context Protocol and LLMs for automated root cause analysis, natural language database querying and autonomous incident investigation; write backend services and APIs in REST and GraphQL and connect diagnostics into React and TypeScript workflows; design event driven architectures and streaming data flows with Apache Kafka; own code from commit to production in a DevOps model while using AI assisted coding tools, with Claude Code, Cursor and GitHub Copilot named explicitly; and conduct code reviews, write unit tests and troubleshoot performance and reliability.
