About this role

This one is different from everything else in today's edition and we are flagging that upfront: it is hardware, not software. The role owns manufacturing test for the company's enterprise storage hardware, from new product introduction through to high volume production ramp. You would define test strategy and sequences, lead debug when builds fail, analyse failure paretos to isolate root causes across hardware, firmware and test infrastructure, and work with contract manufacturers on yield reviews. There is real software in it: the posting asks for hands on Python for building and scaling manufacturing test software and diagnostic scripts. Consider it if you have an electronics or systems background and want deep hardware work at scale. If you are a web or backend developer, this is not a lateral move.

Who this is for

Asks for 8+ years of deep technical understanding of hardware systems engineering, system level test deployment or high volume electronic manufacturing environments, including knowledge of factory qualification flows and enterprise hardware architectures. Required: proven proficiency developing, enhancing and scaling manufacturing test software or diagnostic scripts, with strong hands on coding in Python or a similar object oriented language; and advanced diagnostic capability targeting complex hardware and software interactions, test automation platforms and system level failures.

Day to day: own new product introduction and sustaining test readiness by driving end to end manufacturing test strategy, test sequence definition and coverage validation across multiple hardware variants; independently lead technical triage and resolve complex system level test fallout during critical build phases; enhance and standardise the design for manufacturing test architecture by deploying reusable automation frameworks and consolidating test execution onto shared platforms to cut factory cycle times; and work with contract manufacturing partners and internal engineering through yield reviews to close readiness gaps, manage bonepiles and protect shipment schedules.

The posting says you operate with high autonomy and collaborate with firmware, diagnostics and global factory teams.

Location is Bangalore, and this employer states in its postings that it is primarily an in office environment. Expect coordination with factory teams in other time zones.

No interview process is published.

Fit note: this sits between hardware engineering and test automation. The right applicant has done board or system level test in a manufacturing setting and can also write maintainable Python. Neither half alone is likely to be enough.
