Druva sells cloud native data protection and recovery, a managed SaaS platform that keeps air gapped, immutable backups across cloud, SaaS, on premises, endpoint and edge environments, and it is trusted by nearly 7,500 customers including 75 of the Fortune 500. This role sits on the Cloud Platform team, which owns the backbone the rest of the product is built on, covering the core platform, product led growth, ecosystem and integrations, licensing and an agentic AI platform. The work is backend server side development in Go, Python, C++ or Java on Unix, Linux or Windows, with service oriented architecture and microservices. One requirement is worth noting because it is unusually blunt: the posting asks for real spec based AI assisted development and says explicitly that casual AI chat use does not count.
Who this is for
Asks for 6+ years of experience, preferably at a product company. Required: extensive hands on experience in Go, Python, C++ or Java on Unix, Linux or Windows; excellent programming skills with data structures, algorithms and design concepts; strong experience with service oriented architecture; hands on experience with generative AI based development using extensive prompts and preferably spec based development, with Cursor and Gemini named, and the posting states directly that vibe coding or peripheral AI chat does not qualify; experience with microservices; and experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS. Third party API integration at scale is preferred.
Desirable: excellent written and verbal communication, familiarity with Agile methods such as Scrum, knowledge of the SaaS or backup domain, and working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Day to day: own the design, implementation and maintenance of software modules for a team, focused primarily on backend server side components and on performance and responsiveness to frontend requests; design and implement large, complex features and architectural improvements; propose solutions to complex design problems; identify engineering improvements; and guide and mentor junior team members through code and design review.
Location is Pune, which is worth noting given how Bangalore heavy this board usually is. No office day count and no interview process are published.
